FilmFellas from Steve Weiss, Zacuto USA on Vimeo. I just came across this short film by Steve Weiss, that I thought was amazing and wanted to share. Watch it now and tell me what you think. It's a discussion over dinner about the future of movie making and TV vs publishing films on the internet. I found it profound, I mean think about the contrast between the desire to have your work seen on the big screen, a goal most film makers aspire to but few reach versus the ability to publish tomorrow on the internet and be seen by millions. Oh and BTW isn't the quality of Vimeo mind blowing. just To View More >>

Sometimes you see a music video that, although not for everyone, really hits home for yourself. This one, has beautiful cinema photography ... and as someone on YouTube commented, a voice that is "haunting beautiful" For me, since I can't understand the words I get caught up in my imagination ... and with the images and the sounds make up my own story. The coastline in this video reminds me of the places in New Zealand, where we would play as kids and you yearn for when you are away. Enjoy Sanvean (I am your shadow) - Lisa Gerrard To View More >>

One of the incredible blessings of working in the Queensberry Group is the wonderful people we get to spend our time with, and few are more inspiring than Peter Haythornthwaite. [flickr]photo:3099049094[/flickr] I was sitting at the kitchen table about to take a photo of this wood pigeon when I got an email from Peter commenting on my blog. Amongst other things he said "I guess a natural 'other' would be small videos of family discoveries at the beach - your area, your 'forest' area, your Titirangi - why do you live there etc." The timing made me smile as this beautiful bird perfectly symbolizes To View More >>

Ok ... Truth is, I'm not really sure what this is about. But I love the artistry in this sort of work ... powerful images and music, strangely moving in an odd sort of way. Hat tip to EpicGirl To View More >>

I love Malcolm Gladwell, he is such a clever thinker and actually very entertaining for what really could be boring intellectual ideas. Please enjoy watching the following video to find out "What we can learn from spaghetti sauce" By the way, if you enjoy this video go read his books "The Tipping Point" and "Blink". If you can't be bothered reading use iTunes to download audible versions of these books to your iPod and go take the dog for a walk :-) To View More >>

In my blog description I say that I love the "simple solutions", I have to say this has to be one of the best I have seen in ages. By taking the abundant energy of children playing and using that to pump water from clean under ground water supplies Play Pumps have created a way to ease the problem of getting fresh water to villages of the world. These people are really inspiring. To View More >>

Ok, I don't condone violence at all and especially physical discipline of children but I found this video exceptionally funny. Ironically I was at a friends the other day watching the Pacific Island awards on TV and commented that although I found the humour funny I also found it sad that so much of their identity when it came to humour was around crime and violence. I'm of two minds as to whether this is a good thing, as it keeps it out there to discuss or sad as it confuses children regarding their role models and culture. Anyway, sit back and enjoy To View More >>
