I’m a Senior Fire Fighter (Volunteer) with the New Zealand Fire Service. I am very proud of my involvement in this, and I work hard to be the best Fire Fighter and Medical First Responder I can be. I am, however, the first to acknowledge my short comings. When I respond to a call I do so with the same professionalism as any other paid or volunteer crew, but that’s not the same as being trained to the same level or having the same experience as paid staff.
It’s important that people understand what follows in relation to what I say in my blog as a Fire Fighter, and the stories I tell and lessons I’ve learned as a result of my involvement. This is especially true for my blog series “Business Lessons of a Firefighter“.
At the end of the day I am a Business Person first and a Fire Fighter second. That’s why I see these lessons so clearly, and why you should focus on the business part of the advice.
Having said that, as I am confident there are some important observations made I would encourage you to read some of these posts so click here
